Here are our top cat safety tips for Halloween and Bonfire Night:

Don’t take your cat trick or treating, even if he is black and has fangs like Presley! He would much rather stay snuggled up at home, in his favourite hiding place and away from all the commotion. A little spray of Feliway might help him settle.

Make sure your cat can’t get hurt by candles or get entangled in decorations. Keep sweets out of reach!

For Bonfire Night and the wonderful fireworks displays keep your cat indoors, with the curtains drawn and cat flaps, windows and doors firmly shut. Calming music indoors can muffle loud bangs, and some toys can be a great distraction.

In case your cat does escape, have her microchipped and make sure that the information on the chip is up to date so that you can be reunited quickly.
