Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel crowned winners at the Guardian Small Business Showcase Awards 2016.

It was an unbelievable night with over 1,000 promising businesses being nominated for these prestigious awards to celebrate innovation and excellence across the UK.  Longcroft were delighted to be amongst those shortlisted and arrived at the trendy Lighterman Bar located in London’s Kings Cross. The finalists, nibbling on canapés and sipping Prosecco, gathered on the roof terrace and took the opportunity to chat with other like minded businesses.

Overlooking a sunlit public square, the crowd posed for photographs listening to the evening’s special guest, Pip Black, co-founder of Frame, a London-based pay-as-you-go fitness brand as she inspired her audience with her passion for providing fun, pay-as-you-go exercise classes across their 4 London studios.

Longcroft were finalists in the ‘Home Business Innovation’ category alongside Whizz Pop Bang, an awesomely amazing new monthly kids, science magazine for 6-11 year olds and Spice Kitchen, a family run artisanal spice company.

Nigel Spencer from the British Library’s Business and IP Centre and Ian Gibbs, head of commercial insight at the Guardian were delighted to present Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel the winning title of  ‘Home Innovation Business 2016.’ The judges agreed they stood out for their ground-breaking approach to improving the service offered to pet owners and becoming market leaders within the luxury cat hotel industry.

Amongst the heavyweight judging team was Dragon’s Den’s James Caan who together with the rest of the panel felt the rapid growth and consistent approach in all of its 11 locations was very impressive.

Clearly, there is a case to build an enterprise. I know how much money goes on people’s pets. It’s a massive market. It’s a nice little business.

Longcroft provides state of the art, immaculate, safe, homely environments for cats to enjoy whilst their owners are away. “

Abi Purser, founder says, ‘We are so proud to have won such a prestigious award. Being part of an established and inspirational team allows us to offer a far greater depth of experience and knowledge with consistently high standards in every location.’
