Judith Andrews, owner of Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel Margate, Kent, is supporting a local charity football match in Ramsgate in aid of the ‘Making Ellie Count’ campaign and organised by Caremark, a home care organisation in the area. ‘Making Ellie Count’ aims to raise important awareness of the dangers of sepsis as well as valuable funds for the UK Sepsis Trust.
The Making Ellie Count Charity Football Match and Family Fun Day will take place on Sunday 18th August 2024 at Ramsgate Football Club from 1pm – 5pm, with the match between Caremark and ManVFat Margate kicking off at 2pm. The family fun will include face painting, bouncy castle, meet the carnival queens, bar and ice creams.
The ‘Making Ellie Count’ campaign was created in memory of Ellie, who tragically died of sepsis in 2015, when she was just 11 months old. Despite being taken to hospital, Ellie was sadly misdiagnosed and did not receive the treatment that could have saved her. Kerry, Ellie’s mom and also one of Caremark Thanet, Dover & Canterbury’s directors, is determined to make Ellie’s short life make a difference. Caremark is not just about raising money for the charity Sepsis, but about making people aware of the dangers of sepsis.
