Helen previously worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth office for over 30 years. When not commuting to Whitehall, she has lived and worked in Europe, Africa, the USA, and the Caribbean.  She took early retirement from the Diplomatic Service in order to have more time at home with her family and pets, and to be able to enjoy a new career working with cats.

‘Having experienced a wide range of care providers for my own pets, I know how important it is for families to have the confidence that their cat will be kindly looked after like they would at home. As I live on the premises, and the hotel will always remain small, I can ensure that guests receive the highest level of attention, especially if they are nervous or have previously not enjoyed a stay away from home.’

Asked what she is most looking forward to about running a Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel, Helen says: ‘ I was inspired to open a Longcroft after reading Abi’s vision to provide luxury holidays for feline guests whilst their owners are away. After reading hundreds of reviews I quickly realised that Longcroft’s five star status was from offering the best cat care in the UK and this was my dream; offering a home from home environment where cats feel welcomed and loved, located in the grounds of my garden. I have always had a passion for animals and adopted my first rescue cat over 20 years ago. The response I have already received has been overwhelming and has confirmed the need for five star cat care in West Sussex.’
